There are moments in life that seem mysterious at the time, but later reveal themselves as part of a much larger story.
For me, one of those mysteries began at 30 Rockefeller Plaza in New York City — the home of NBC — where I worked as a two-time Peabody Award–winning documentarian and researcher. Every day, employees and visitors passed by the great golden statue of Prometheus, the mythological figure carrying fire to humanity.
At the time, I could not fully explain why that image affected me so deeply.
The statue stood at the center of one of the world’s great intersections of media, industry, storytelling, and human influence. Behind it, broadcasters shaped narratives that reached millions of homes. Around it, commerce, culture, technology, and public perception merged into a single force powerful enough to influence society itself.
Only years later, during the rise of Artificial Intelligence, did I begin to understand why I had been drawn there.
The story of Prometheus was never simply about fire.
It was about the burden that comes with powerful new tools.
Every era faces its own version of the Prometheus Dilemma — the printing press, electricity, nuclear energy, and now AI. Each breakthrough arrives carrying both extraordinary hope and profound fear. One side sees salvation; the other sees catastrophe. History’s greatest controversy is not technology itself, but whether humanity can develop wisdom quickly enough to guide the fire responsibly.
Today, AI has become the newest flame placed into human hands.
And in many ways, it feels as though my journey through documentary storytelling, media research, and public communication was quietly preparing me for this moment. Working inside the halls of NBC at Rockefeller Center — behind the daily reminder of Prometheus — planted a question in me long before I had words for it:
How do we help society understand transformative power without surrendering to fear?
That question now lives at the heart of the AI Super Campus for Good.
The mission is not to worship technology, nor to demonize it, but to guide it with wisdom, empathy, ethics, and human-centered storytelling. AI is not a mythical monster from science fiction. It is a tool — a “bicycle for the human mind” — capable of helping humanity solve problems once thought impossible, from Alzheimer’s research to disaster prevention and support for older adults wishing to live independently with dignity.
But like every great fire in history, AI requires stewardship.
The AI Super Campus exists to become a modern guardrail for that stewardship — a place where builders, ethicists, storytellers, educators, and researchers work together to ensure that innovation serves humanity rather than harms it.
Looking back now, I realize the Prometheus statue was never just a sculpture outside a television network.
It was a symbol of humanity’s oldest responsibility:
to carry the torch carefully,
to illuminate rather than destroy,
and to help people navigate history’s greatest controversies with reason, compassion, and courage.
In many ways, I now feel compelled to continue carrying that torch forward.Guiding the Fire: The Prometheus Dilemma and the AI Super Campus Education for Good.
Narrative Storytelling
The "Prometheus Dilemma" represents the historical tension that arises whenever humanity discovers a transformative source of power. Throughout history — from the printing press to the nuclear age — new technologies have been met with a dichotomy of optimism and existential fear.
The current era of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the latest iteration of this dilemma. The AI Super Campus for Good has been established as a strategic intervention to address the historical struggle of managing powerful tools with appropriate wisdom and reasoning.
Rather than viewing AI as a sentient threat, the Campus frames it as a "bicycle for the human mind" — a high-speed learning tool designed to solve complex global challenges. By centralizing ethicists, builders, and researchers, the Campus acts as a "digital shipyard" to ensure AI development is guided by safety, empathy, and a commitment to human well-being, specifically targeting breakthroughs in healthcare, disaster prevention, and elder care.
The Prometheus Dilemma: A Historical Framework
The "Prometheus Dilemma" is defined as the longest-running controversy in human history. It occurs at the intersection of technological breakthrough and societal split: one faction views the new power as a savior, while the other fears it as a destructive force.
History demonstrates that while humanity is adept at invention, it often lacks the immediate wisdom required for responsible management.
Historical Examples of Technological Anxiety
The Printing Press (1440s) Church and state leaders initially feared that the democratization of reading would lead to social chaos, the collapse of moral society, and the "death of truth." Instead, it sparked the Scientific Revolution and vastly increased global literacy.
The Industrial Revolution and Electricity (1800s) Public fear suggested that electricity would "curse" homes and that mechanized labor would permanently erode human dignity. Instead, it fundamentally restructured global productivity and raised standards of living worldwide.
The Nuclear Age (1940s) Described as the "ultimate double-edged sword," this era presented the most extreme version of the dilemma. The same technology provided the capacity for both total urban destruction and the generation of clean energy.
Re-Defining Artificial Intelligence
To bridge the gap between fear and utility, AI must be stripped of its "sentient robot" persona so often found in science fiction. There are two straightforward ways to understand what AI actually is.
First, think of it as a bicycle for the mind — a tool that enhances human capability rather than replacing it. Second, think of it as the ultimate fast learner — a high-speed data processor capable of analyzing millions of pages of medical data, or managing complex energy grids in seconds to prevent failures.
The AI Super Campus for Good: Mission and Guardrails
The AI Super Campus for Good is presented as the solution to the Prometheus Dilemma — a physical and intellectual "guardrail" for the technology. Its purpose is to ensure that the "fire" of AI is guided by responsible hands, rather than those seeking a quick profit.
The Campus is best understood through two familiar comparisons. Like a digital shipyard, it is a place where complex, large-scale infrastructure is constructed with precision and care. Like a modern research hospital, it is a space dedicated to healing and scientific advancement for the public good.
Core Objectives
The Campus operates under a strict mission to "guide the fire" through the following principles:
The AI Super Campus is a learning library of MINI-BOOKS, created for good to help people understand and guide themselves through HISTORY'S GREATEST CONTROVERSY.
Problem-Centered Development. The focus is on solving generational problems, not on replacing human workers.
Ethics and Safety. The Campus brings together the brightest minds — ethicists, builders, and researchers — to ensure development is always guided by empathy and care.
Targeted Goals for Real People. These include finding a cure for Alzheimer's disease, developing tools to predict natural disasters before they strike, and enabling older adults to live safely and independently in their own homes.
Strategic Conclusions
The ultimate message is one of reassurance: tools are not inherently good or bad. Their value is determined entirely by the hands that hold them.
The AI Super Campus serves as a centralized authority to ensure that those hands are guided by safety and a sincere desire to benefit humanity. By establishing these guardrails, the goal is to write a chapter of history defined by progress — not destruction.
Key Quotes

Re-Defining Artificial Intelligence
To bridge the gap between fear and utility, AI must be stripped of its "sentient robot" persona often found in fiction. The AI Super Campus proposes two primary frameworks for understanding the technology clearly and honestly.
🚲 The Bicycle for the Mind
AI is a tool that enhances human capability rather than replacing it. Just as a bicycle amplifies the speed and range of a human on foot, AI amplifies the reach and power of human thought — extending what we can discover, create, and solve.
"AI isn't a sentient robot from a movie... It is just a very, very fast learner."
The Ultimate Learner
AI functions as a high-speed data processor capable of analyzing millions of pages of medical data in seconds, or managing complex energy grids to prevent failures before they occur. It does not think — it processes, patterns, and predicts at a scale no human team could match alone.

This reframing is essential: AI is infrastructure for human progress, not a replacement for human judgment.
